Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) Program Announcement:

All 3rd grade students will be screened for our district’s Gifted and Talented Education Program in January.  We will also be giving any 4th grade students who chose not to take part in the screening process last year an opportunity to be screened. Exact dates will be shared prior to Winter Break.  

All other 4th and 5th graders will only be screened if they are nominated by their parent or a school employee.   Nomination forms are available on our website, or can be emailed to you.  Nomination forms are due to our Curriculum Specialist, Danielle Kuester, by Friday, December 10th.  If you have any questions or would like a nomination form, please contact Danielle Kuester at daniellekuester@burbankusd.org or 818-729-2000

Our district coordinator, Jennifer Almer, will be hosting an informational meeting for all interested families on Monday, December 13th from 5:30-6:30pm on Zoom.  We will send Zoom information to all 3rd grade families prior to the meeting.  If you are a 4th or 5th grade parent interested in GATE identification, please contact Danielle Kuester to receive the meeting information.
